What is worsted style spinning and how do you get from spinning a worsted style yarn to spinning a woolen style yarn.
When most people lean to spin they learn a single style of spinning and then want to expand their skills. How do the two techniques differ and what fibre preparations work best with different techniques?
In this class we will explore the different styles of spinning and the semi woolen and semi worsted styles as well. We will use fibre from batts, rolags, combed top and roving. Students will learn how to take a worsted fibre prep and turn it into fibre for woolen spinning.
Fibre will be brought by the instructor but students can also bring fibres they have at home if they want to discuss using that fibre as well.
Materials Needed: Spinning wheel, hand carders if they have them, and combs if they have them. Instructor will have a few pairs of both if the student does not have.
Cost: $85.00 (this includes material provided by the instructor)
