Spinning two ply yarns is great, but what if you want a different yarn, a rounder yarn like you would get from a 3ply, or a 4 ply yarn or a 6 ply yarn? Why would you make yarns beyond a 2ply, what are they good for? What is tension on your lazy kate and why would you need it?
Students would learn how to create 3 ply yarns from both 3 bobbins a chain plying. Creating 4 ply yarns from 4 bobbins and from 2ply yarns and more.
We will be doing lots of plying in this class so students can gather up bobbins of singles and turn them into wondering interesting yarns.
If students are interested they can also bring a set of knitting needles or two to see how they yarns change what your knitting.
Materials Needed: Spinning wheel, several bobbins with 2 ply yarns and single yarns the more the better.
