Learn the structure of the four most popular shawl shapes - Triangular, Asymmetrical, Crescent and Bias. Swatches will be done of each shape. Tips, techniques, written instructions and charts will be provided to give participants an in-depth understanding of how these four shawl shapes work.
Each participant can begin the triangular shawl “Old Balustrade” which is available as a free pattern on Ravelry, choose a different shawl or bring in a “WIP” shawl. These shawls will be worked on during the three-week session in order to address any questions or concerns that may arise while proceeding through the patterns.
Materials Needed: DK weight for some basic patterns and applicable needles.
1 skein of fingering weight yarn and applicable size (2.25 to 3 mm depending on individual tension) for making swatches.
Sufficient yarn to make one shawl as specified in the pattern.

Prerequisites: Learn to Knit Continental Part 1 or a basic understanding of knitting (knit, purl, yarn over, increases, and decreases).
