Learn some of the basics of Lace Knitting using the beautiful "Eleanor Cowl" pattern available free from either Ravelry or Knitty.com. Make sure to download the chart as it is separate from the pattern.
In this three hour class you will learn how to read a knitting chart, putting different stitches together over multiple rows to create a beautiful pattern in the knitted fabric. Right and Left-leaning decreases stitches, the 'no stitch' function and the use of markers and lifelines and how to read your work will all be covered.
Prerequisites: Cast on, knit, purl
Materials: Download/Print Eleanor Cowl from Ravelry or Knitty.com, DK weight yarn in a light colour and applicable needles as per the pattern instructions, stitch markers. Instructor will email a handout prior to class.
