This Two in One socks technique is a unique way of knitting socks. Once a common way to knit a pair of socks at the same time, the technique has now become obscure. You will surprise and amuse your knitting and non-knitting friends when you show them your two socks inside of each other!
This 3-part class will take you through knitting a pair of socks from the toe up, inside of each other with double knitting using one long circular needle.
The pattern used for this class is “Winter in Bronte Village Socks” and will be provided. We can send you a PDF of the pattern in order to complete the toes prior to the first class.
Participants will learn how to incorporate the two toes on to one set of needles and will be taught three methods of holding the yarn for double knitting the socks and how to fix an error.
The classes will consist of two 1-hour sessions to teach the required skills. An optional ½ hour has been scheduled to discuss any issues participants may have once the main classes are complete.
This is a fun way of doing two socks together and a great way to learn the basic skills for colour work and double knitting.
